Deborra-Lee Furness Seen Solo After Hugh Jackman’s New Romance

NEW YORK CITY — Deborra-Lee Furness made a rare public appearance on May 20, 2025, following her amicable separation from actor Hugh Jackman in September 2023. The 69-year-old Australian actress attended the Parsons School of Design‘s event, while Jackman, 56, was recently spotted in the city with his new romantic partner, Sutton Foster, 50.

Photos obtained exclusively by PEOPLE show Jackman and Foster together in New York City on May 17, just days before Furness’s outing. This marked one of the few times Furness has been seen publicly since her split from Jackman. The couple had originally announced their decision to separate to focus on personal growth.

Furness had last been seen publicly earlier this year at the 2025 Australian Open, where she attended matches with their 19-year-old daughter, Ava. Furness and Jackman met in 1995 on the set of the Australian television series “Correlli” and married in April 1996.

Jackman and Foster’s relationship began after they starred together in the Broadway production of “The Music Man” in 2022. Foster ended her previous marriage to Ted Griffin in October 2024.

Diving into her own career, Furness spoke with PEOPLE in May 2024 about her personal growth and resilience. “I learned that I’m strong and resilient,” she reflected, emphasizing the importance of evolution in one’s life.

As for Jackman, he is currently performing in an off-Broadway play that started on April 28 and will run until June 18. He is also holding a concert series at Radio City Music Hall, with performances scheduled throughout May.
