Delhi Capitals‘ pacer Rasikh Salam Dar has been reprimanded for his exuberant celebration following a wicket-taking moment during an intense Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Gujarat Titans.

The incident occurred at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium, where the Delhi Capitals secured a thrilling victory by a slim margin of four runs.

Rasikh Salam Dar was found guilty of a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which prohibits actions or gestures that may belittle or provoke a rival player.

In response to the violation, the IPL released a statement on Thursday disclosing the situation and the subsequent punishment that Dar faced.

The 24-year-old bowler showcased an exceptional performance during the match, securing three crucial wickets for his team with figures of three for 44 from his four overs, dismissing prominent players like Sai Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan, and R. Sai Kishore.

Despite his limited experience in the competitive arena, with only two First-Class and seven List A matches under his belt, Dar displayed composure during a critical phase of the game, bowling the 19th over.

Although he conceded 18 runs in his final over, the pivotal dismissal of Sai Kishore with a well-executed in-swinging yorker proved to be decisive in shifting the momentum in favor of the Delhi Capitals.

Hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, Rasikh Salam Dar’s spirited performance contributed significantly to the Delhi Capitals’ success in a high-stakes encounter as they strive to enhance their position in the IPL standings.
