Delta Air Lines Caribbean Flights Announcement

ATLANTA, Ga. — Delta Air Lines announced a significant expansion of its Caribbean service on Friday, revealing plans to introduce 10 new routes to popular vacation destinations. Starting this December, the Atlanta-based airline will add nonstop flights to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada, marking a return to both islands since previously halting services in 2020.

The new routes will commence on December 20, 2025, offering travelers from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) convenient access to Argyle International Airport (SVD) in St. Vincent and Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) in Grenada. Delta aims to capitalize on the growing demand for tropical escapes during the winter months.

“With two brand-new destinations in the Eastern Caribbean, Delta is expanding its offering in the region, with even more seats to Latin America and the Caribbean this winter,” said Paul Baldoni, Delta’s senior vice president of network planning. Daily flights will operate from Atlanta through April 12, 2026, catering to those seeking warmth during colder months.

In addition to these new routes, Delta is reinstating flights to Cancun, Mexico, from several U.S. cities, including Nashville, Indianapolis, and Kansas City. These flights, which last operated in 2020, are set to run every Saturday through April 12, 2026.

New routes include daily flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Seasonal flights will also resume between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Cyril E. King Airport (STT) in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Delta’s latest expansions reflect a broader trend of airlines increasing their services to the Caribbean and Central America after a period of reduced profitability in these markets. Competitors like American Airlines have similarly announced new routes to destinations, including Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Meanwhile, Delta plans to enhance its service frequency to Mexico and Central American cities during the peak winter season. Increased daily flights will be introduced to destinations such as Punta Cana, Panama City, and Belize City, positioning Delta to better compete in popular vacation markets.

The airline’s expansion strategy comes at a time when consumer demand for travel is rebounding, with families and tourists eager to visit tropical destinations. As Delta ramps up its service offerings, travelers can expect more options and flexibility for their winter getaways.
