Demarcus Cousins Basketball Puerto Rico Game

Guaynabo, Puerto RicoDeMarcus Cousins was ejected from a National Superior Basketball League game on Monday night after a confrontation with fans during a match between the Guaynabo Mets and Bayamon Vaqueros.

The incident escalated when a courtside fan insulted Cousins, prompting him to respond with a provocative gesture. As he made his way toward the tunnel, some fans began to throw drinks at him, leading to further tension.

Security had to intervene as Cousins attempted to confront the fans, and he was eventually restrained in the tunnel area. Eyewitnesses reported that drinks and food were tossed in his direction as he left the court.

This was the tenth game of the season for Cousins, who has been averaging 18.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game this season.

Cousins, a former NBA All-Star, has not played in the NBA since the 2021-22 season. He was drafted fifth overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2010 and has played for multiple teams throughout his career, including the New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors.

His last NBA appearance was on April 27, 2022, when he played for the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs. Cousins, now 34, returned to the Mets de Guaynabo this season after previously playing for them and later signing with teams in Taiwan.

It remains unclear what disciplinary action, if any, Cousins will face following this incident.
