Disney’s ‘Mid-Century Modern’ Submits Six Actors for Emmy Consideration

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Disney‘s new comedy series ‘Mid-Century Modern‘ is making waves in the awards circuit by submitting six of its leading actors for Emmy consideration ahead of the upcoming ceremonies.
The show, which features a humorous take on the lives of a group of seniors living in Palm Springs, showcases Nathan Lane in a starring role as Bunny Schneiderman, a successful bra designer. Lane is submitted for Best Comedy Actor. An eight-time Emmy nominee, he won his first Emmy in 2022 for his guest role in ‘Only Murders in the Building.’
Bunny’s roommates, played by Matt Bomer and Nathan Lee Graham, are also in the running for awards. Bomer, known for his prior Emmy nominations for ‘The Normal Heart‘ and ‘Fellow Travelers‘, is submitted for Best Comedy Supporting Actor, alongside Graham, who is vying for his first nomination. Graham is celebrated for his performances in Tony-nominated productions such as ‘The Wild Party‘ and ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.’
In the supporting actress category, the late Linda Lavin, who portrayed Bunny’s mother, Sybil Schneiderman, is also submitted. Lavin, a Tony-winning actress, received her only Emmy nomination in 1979 for her role in ‘Alice‘, winning two Golden Globes during her career. She passed away in December 2024 while ‘Mid-Century Modern’ was still in production.
Additionally, Richard Kind, who plays Bunny’s suitor Caroll Mintz, is submitted for Best Comedy Guest Actor, while Pamela Adlon, portraying Bunny’s troubled sister Mindy Schneiderman, will compete as Best Comedy Guest Actress. These rankings represent Hulu’s official nominations, with the possibility for additional submissions from the cast.
Fans and critics are eager to see how ‘Mid-Century Modern’ fares in the Emmy race, with nominations expected to be announced on July 15. The show, which has garnered attention for its diverse cast and humorous storytelling, is currently available for streaming on Hulu.
