Dua Lipa Reflects on Inspiring Collaboration with Gwen Stefani
LOS ANGELES, California — Dua Lipa is still riding high after her performance at a show in Los Angeles, where she surprised fans by inviting Gwen Stefani on stage. In an interview with Rolling Stone on October 10, 2025, Lipa expressed her admiration for the iconic artist.
“I’ve loved Gwen my whole life. I’ve found her so inspiring. I’ve loved her music,” Lipa shared at Mistr’s event at the Abbey in West Hollywood. “For me, it was a big childhood dream come true.”
The singers first connected in 2020 when Lipa asked Stefani to join a remix of her song “Physical.” Despite collaborating on the project, they had not met until Lipa’s recent show. “From growing up watching her, all her music videos, her on TV and on red carpets, to then seeing her right next to me, singing a song that soundtracked my life was really special,” Lipa added.
Lipa also expressed excitement for Stefani’s upcoming performance at the Sphere in Las Vegas, though she jokingly worried about leaking the news: “I didn’t leak this news! I’ll get in trouble with Gwen.” She praised the Sphere as a “spectacle” and shared her hope of attending one of the shows.
Reflecting on her 2024 album, Lipa called it her “favorite album I’ve made,” emphasizing its message of resilience amid hardship. “Had I not written Radical Optimism and manifested all these amazing things into my life… then I don’t know, maybe I wouldn’t have met Callum [Turner],” she said.
Lipa confirmed that she is back in the studio, inspired by her new engagement and the love she feels. “Love is influencing the sonics,” she shared. “The music I’m making is very fun. I’m still in discovery mode but we’re having a good time.”
Although she remained tight-lipped about future projects, Lipa expressed her excitement for ongoing collaborations, saying, “I love working with Mark. I’m so inspired by him.”
