Dylan Dreyer Updates on Sheinelle Jones Amid Absence from Today Show

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Sheinelle Jones is receiving support from her colleagues on the Today show as she deals with a family health matter. Dylan Dreyer, a cohost on the popular morning program, shared an update about Jones’s condition during the Kentucky Derby on May 3.
“She’s doing all right,” Dreyer, 43, told E! News. “She’s hanging in there. We’re praying for her and her family.” Dreyer emphasized that the team remains in close contact with Jones. “We talk to her every day. One of us on the team talks to her every single day, and we’re there to support her,” she added. “We’ll welcome her back with open arms the second she can get back to us.”
Jones, who is 47, last appeared on air in December 2024. After noticing her absence, fans initially speculated that she was taking time off for the holidays. However, in January, Jones addressed her situation via social media. “I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter,” she wrote on Instagram, expressing her gratitude for the support she has received.
In her message, Jones highlighted her deep appreciation for her colleagues and fans. “Your kindness means so much to me. I’ll see you soon,” she concluded. Craig Melvin and Savannah Guthrie, fellow cohosts, have also shown their support on the show, often sharing messages of encouragement for Jones as her absence continues.
The close-knit team at Today shows their commitment to Jones’s well-being as she navigates this challenging period. Dreyer and the others are eager for her return, reinforcing the supportive environment that characterizes the show.
