NEW YORK, March 6, 2025 – Jim Murphy, the author of the motivational book “Inner Excellence,” will see his work rereleased on April 29 by Grand Central Publishing Group. The update comes on the heels of Murphy’s growing acclaim following the Philadelphia Eagles‘ Super Bowl victory, where his book gained unexpected popularity after wide receiver A.J. Brown was spotted reading it on the sidelines during a key playoff game.

Murphy’s success is underscored by a new publishing deal that not only revives “Inner Excellence” but also includes his upcoming book titled “The Best Possible Life,” set for release on September 30.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the overwhelming response to ‘Inner Excellence’ and for the impact it’s had on so many lives around the world,” Murphy said in a statement. “My mission has always been to help people unlock their full potential — not just in performance, but in life — and I’m excited to continue that journey.”

The resurgence of Murphy’s work began when A.J. Brown was captured on camera reading the book during the Eagles’ NFC wild-card win against the Green Bay Packers on January 12. This exposure propelled the book from a rank of 532,733 to the top of Amazon’s bestseller list overnight, contributing to its status as a No. 1 New York Times bestseller.

The buzz generated by the Eagles’ championship run and Brown’s endorsement has led to a surge of interest from fans, with many taking to Amazon’s review section to express their appreciation for both Brown and Murphy. “Inner Excellence” aims to provide strategies for enhancing mental toughness and achieving personal growth.

In addition to the rerelease of “Inner Excellence,” plans are underway for a companion workbook designed to further engage readers—a prospect that may particularly appeal to Brown.

This trend of self-help literature resonating within professional sports is notable. Many athletes are turning to books that offer insight into performance psychology and personal development. Murphy’s narrative is a testament to this rising interest, echoing across various sports as athletes seek mental resilience to enhance their performance.

Murphy’s journey serves as inspiration not only to the Eagles but also to readers worldwide seeking to better themselves amid the pressures of competition. With both a rerelease and a new book on the horizon, the author is poised to solidify his role as a vital player in sports motivation and self-help literature.
