Edmonton Oilers forward Connor Brown found the back of the net in a losing cause as the team fell to the Dallas Stars in Game 2 of their playoff series. Brown’s goal came just 44 seconds after Jamie Benn put the Stars in the lead during the first period, briefly equalizing the score.

The Oilers struggled to generate more offense against a solid performance from Stars’ netminder Jake Oettinger, ultimately succumbing to a 3-1 defeat. Despite Brown’s efforts, the Oilers couldn’t find a way past Oettinger again in what proved to be a frustrating night for the Edmonton team.

With this goal, Brown notched his first goal of the postseason and second point overall across the eight playoff games he has appeared in. Throughout the series, Brown has also contributed five shots on goal, delivered five hits, accumulated four penalty minutes, and maintained a plus-2 rating.

Brown has primarily operated in a bottom-six role for the Oilers, receiving limited ice time but making an impact whenever he’s on the ice. As the series progresses, the Oilers will be looking for more offensive contributions from Brown and the rest of the team to turn the tide in their favor and secure a crucial win against the Dallas Stars.
