Emirates Association Promotes Reprographic Rights at International Meeting

The Emirates Reprographic Rights Management Association participated in an important international meeting on April 27, 2025, to strengthen its commitment to reprographic and related rights protection.
Representatives from the association included Majd Al Shehhi, Director; Romika Chawla, Legal Representative; and Hala Al Ali, Licensing Relations Executive. They used the platform to exchange expertise and address shared challenges with colleagues from across Asia.
During the meeting, Al Shehhi highlighted the UAE’s leading efforts in protecting reprographic rights and managing the use of creative works. Chawla presented on the significance of safeguarding intellectual property rights, emphasizing the role of collective management organizations.
“We believe in the importance of highlighting the UAE’s pioneering experience in reprographic rights protection,” Al Shehhi said. “Our participation reflects our commitment to exchanging expertise and cooperation with regional and international partners.”
Al Shehhi also noted the meeting’s role in enhancing legal frameworks necessary for protecting these rights, saying that collaboration with Asian organizations aids in developing effective protection practices.
The association aims to foster regional cooperation and explore global best practices in protecting the rights of creators, ultimately supporting the creative economy in the UAE.
This participation is part of the association’s ongoing efforts to stimulate a culture of respect for creative work and safeguard intellectual production.
