Kelly Oubre Jr. Philadelphia 76ers Game Performance

NEW YORK — Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 29 points, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 129-105 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday night.

Oubre was efficient, making 9 of 11 field goals and finishing the first quarter with 22 points. However, he suffered an ankle injury at the buzzer in the third quarter, which limited his participation. Despite being cleared to return, Oubre did not reenter the game.

Quentin Grimes added 22 points and 13 assists off the bench, while Tyrese Maxey chipped in 16 points. The 76ers improved to 5-1 on the season despite missing their All-Star center, who was held out due to left knee management.

Philadelphia shot 52% from the field and maintained a commanding lead, going up by as much as 28 points during the game. Maxey opened the third quarter with a three-pointer, bringing the score to 76-55, before the Nets attempted a comeback with an 18-7 run, cutting the deficit to 83-73.

Grimes responded by scoring the next three baskets, helping to extend the lead to 90-78 at the end of the third quarter. The 76ers then launched a 9-0 run to start the final period, putting the game out of reach.

Brooklyn’s struggles continued, falling to 0-6 for the season, marking their worst start since the 2015-16 season when they lost their first seven games. Mikal Bridges and Nic Claxton each contributed 17 points for the Nets.

The 76ers will continue their three-game road trip against Chicago on Tuesday, while the Nets will host Minnesota on Monday to conclude their homestand.
