Houston Texans Game

The Houston Texans have made several notable roster adjustments ahead of their Week 11 game against the Dallas Cowboys, scheduled for November 18, 2024. These changes come as the team aims to strengthen its defensive lineup and improve its standing in the AFC South division.

Among the significant updates, the Texans have activated cornerback Jeff Okudah from the Injured Reserve/Designated for Return list. Okudah, a former third overall pick, has been inactive since sustaining an injury in Week 1. His recent activation follows the expiration of his 21-day assessment window, during which the team evaluated his readiness to return to play. Aiming to gain stability as a reliable depth player, Okudah now has the opportunity to contribute to the Texans’ defense.

In addition, defensive tackle Mario Edwards Jr. has been reactivated to the active roster following the conclusion of a one-week roster exemption. Edwards had previously been serving a suspension, during which time he posted 18 tackles and achieved two sacks over six games. His return is seen as a substantial boost for the Texans, particularly as the team seeks to enhance its defensive performance, which currently ranks 18th in points allowed in the league.

The Texans have also promoted defensive tackle Tommy Togiai from the practice squad to the active roster for their upcoming game against the Cowboys, providing additional depth to their defensive line.

In corresponding moves, the Texans have waived cornerback Myles Bryant and running back J.J. Taylor. Both players will be available to other teams on the waiver wire, but should they go unclaimed, the potential remains for either to return to the Texans via practice squad commitments.

The Texans currently hold a 6-4 record, sitting atop the AFC South, and are positioning themselves to sustain their competitiveness as the season progresses.
