AAP Emerges Victorious in Jalandhar West By-election, Mohindar Bhagat Secures a Landslide Win
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has clinched success in the Jalandhar West by-election, with Mohindar Bhagat securing a landslide victory. The by-election was held due to the resignation of Sheetal Angural, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) candidate. The counting of votes commenced at 8 a.m. and by midday, the final results were announced, declaring Bhagat as the winner.
Shortly after the victory, MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer thanked all the residents of Jalandhar West for the resounding win achieved by AAP’s candidate Mohindar Bhagat. He extended his gratitude towards the leadership of national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, attributing the victory to the state government’s people-centric policies.
Mohindar Bhagat secured 37,325 votes in the by-election, surpassing the BJP candidate Shital Angural and the Congress contestant. The significant win indicates a strong support base for the AAP in Jalandhar West.
Responding to AAP’s lead in the by-election, Punjab’s Minister Harpal Singh Cheema expressed his appreciation to the residents of Jalandhar West. He mentioned his confidence in maintaining the seat by a considerable margin and affirmed that the people are aligned with AAP. He emphasized the mistakes made by the Congress during the emergency in 1975 and highlighted that the BJP would also pay a price for its attempts to amend the constitution.
