AAP’s Mohinder Bhagat Wins Jalandhar West By-Election by a Landslide
In a monumental victory, AAP’s Mohinder Bhagat emerged as the clear winner in the Jalandhar West by-election. The seat was left vacant after Sheetal Angural resigned. The BJP had nominated Angural as their candidate for the by-election, hoping to secure the seat.
The votes were counted starting at 8 am, and by noon, the complete results were declared. Mohinder Bhagat secured a whopping 37,325 votes, establishing a significant lead over the BJP and Congress candidates. Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair, AAP’s MP, expressed gratitude to all the residents of Jalandhar West for their overwhelming support for Bhagat.
All party workers and Bhagat’s family came together to celebrate the victory. The leadership of AAP, under Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan, was credited for guiding the party to success. This win is seen as a testament to the pro-people policies of the state government in Punjab.
The significant margin of victory by Mohinder Bhagat, with 50,732 votes in the twelfth round of counting, showcased the strong backing he received. Sheetal Angural of BJP followed in the second position, with Congress’ Surinder Kaur coming in third.
Harpal Singh Cheema, Punjab’s Minister, thanked the people of Jalandhar West for their support. He expressed confidence in maintaining this seat by a considerable margin, emphasizing the public’s trust in AAP. Cheema also criticized both the Congress and BJP for their past mistakes, highlighting the repercussions they had to face.
