AAP Suspends Nitin Tyagi for Alleged ‘Anti-Party’ Activities in Lok Sabha Elections
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken action against former MLA Nitin Tyagi for his purported involvement in ‘anti-party’ activities during the recent Lok Sabha elections. Tyagi, in response, raised questions about the decision, asserting that he was merely ‘speaking the truth.’
Gopal Rai, the AAP Delhi state convener, formally communicated to Tyagi about his suspension, citing concerns over his conduct during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The party stated that Tyagi’s membership is suspended pending further disciplinary proceedings.
Tyagi, on the other hand, expressed his disbelief at being penalized for what he believes is a commitment to honesty within the party. He shared Rai’s letter on social media, emphasizing the importance of upholding the core ideals of the AAP.
The issue that sparked this rift appears to be related to Tyagi’s criticism of the AAP-Congress alliance in Delhi during the Lok Sabha polls. Tyagi suggested that advocating for parties contrary to the people’s choice could be deemed ‘anti-party,’ pointing out the complexity of political alliances.
