Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal‘s close associate, Bibhav Kumar, faced serious allegations of assault by AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. The incident reportedly took place at the CM’s official residence, escalating tensions within the political realm.

The FIR filed by Delhi Police detailed the distressing account provided by Swati Maliwal. She described being subjected to multiple slaps and kicks by Bibhav Kumar, despite her pleas to stop. The assault allegedly took a severe toll on her both physically and emotionally.

Swati Maliwal, known for her extensive work on women’s issues, expressed deep dismay at the incident involving someone she had known for a significant period. The severity of the alleged assault left her reeling, as she sought justice and accountability for the traumatic experience.

Following the unsettling events at Kejriwal’s official residence, a video capturing the altercation between Maliwal and security personnel circulated widely on social media platforms. This incident shed light on the challenges faced by women in positions of power.

The FIR highlighted Maliwal’s visit to the CM’s residence on May 13, where the assault purportedly took place. She recounted the aggression and verbal abuse directed at her by Bibhav Kumar without any provocation, leading to a distressing physical altercation.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) called on Kumar to appear before them in connection to the alleged assault. Despite a summons issued, Kumar failed to present himself before the commission, further complicating the ongoing investigation into the matter.
