ABC‘s recently launched series, ‘High Potential,’ is currently on hiatus, with new episodes not scheduled to air until early January next year. The series, which has become a fan favorite, aired its last episode on November 11, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating the remainder of its inaugural season.

The storyline of ‘High Potential’ revolves around a single mother with an extraordinary intellectual capacity, whose innovative approach to crime-solving forms a unique partnership with a traditional detective. The series stars Kaitlyn Olson in the lead role, supported by a cast including Daphne, Lev «Oz» Ozdil, Ava, Elliot, and Selena.

According to ABC, ‘High Potential’ is based on the popular French series ‘Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI).’ The first season of the American adaptation will consist of 13 episodes. Prior to the break, ABC aired the first seven episodes. The show will return to screens on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

In addition to ‘High Potential,’ the network has planned the return of other series. Noteworthy mentions include ‘The Rookie‘ and ‘Will Trent,’ which are set to commence their winter episodes the same week. Meanwhile, ‘Doc Odyssey‘ and the long-running ‘Grey's Anatomy‘ will resume in March.
