Actor Revathy Sampath Accuses Siddique of Sexual Assault
Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Revathy Sampath has expressed her decision not to pursue legal action against fellow actor Siddique at this time. Speaking to the media on Sunday, she stated that her stance could change if the government assures her of support in her legal endeavors.
Revathy mentioned, «At present, I have no plans to file a formal complaint against Siddique. I am already traumatized from the pressure following the allegations I made about the attack. My mental peace is my priority now.» She recounted her previous encounters with law enforcement, stating, «Whenever I approached the police with complaints of sexual assault, I faced additional trauma from the officers instead of support.»
The actress criticized the indifference of authorities, revealing that women in the Women’s Commission did not offer the assistance she expected. «I am fed up watching the melodrama of Siddique. He has advanced his career at the expense of many women’s dreams and should not have a place in the film industry,» she asserted.
Furthermore, Revathy raised serious allegations against Telugu director Rajesh Touchriver and his wife, activist Sunita Krishnan. She disclosed that she faced sexual assault during the filming of ‘Mind Game’ and expressed disappointment in Sunita for not supporting her during this difficult time.
Revathy reiterated the sexual assault allegations she made against Siddique during the #MeToo movement in 2019, claiming he assaulted her and confined her in a hotel room in 2016. She stated that she possesses evidence related to these allegations and emphasized the need for Siddique to be banned from the film industry.
Additionally, Revathy described another incident involving actor Riyaz Khan, who allegedly made inappropriate phone calls pursuing a sexual relationship. She indicated that a photographer shared her contact information without her consent, leading to this unwanted advance.
