Actor Sahil Khan has been detained in connection with the Mahadev betting app case, which is reported to involve a fraud amounting to around Rs 15,000 crore. He was apprehended in Chhattisgarh‘s Jagdalpur following the rejection of his pre-arrest bail plea by the Bombay High Court.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Maharashtra is currently probing alleged illicit activities between certain financial and real estate entities in the state and the backers of the controversial Mahadev betting application.

On April 18, Sahil Khan recorded his statements with the SIT, shedding light on the ongoing investigation into the financial dealings. The police have identified 31 individuals linked to the case and are scrutinizing their bank accounts, mobile devices, laptops, and other technical equipment.

Notable personalities, such as actor Tamannaah Bhatia, singer Badshah, and the managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez, have also been summoned or recorded statements in relation to the Mahadev app scrutiny.

Tamannaah Bhatia has been asked to appear before the Maharashtra cyber personnel on April 29 due to her alleged endorsement of watching IPL matches on the Fairplay betting app, a subsidiary platform of the Mahadev online gaming and betting application.

The Maharashtra cyber cell investigates allegations of streaming IPL matches illegally on the Fairplay app, adding to the complexities of the case. With multiple agencies conducting parallel investigations, the Mahadev app remains a focal point for suspected unlawful transactions and betting activities.
