Actress Kiernan Shipka Discusses Personal Milestones and New Film Projects

Actress Kiernan Shipka attended a screening for her upcoming Netflix movie «Sweethearts» in Los Angeles on a recent Monday. Known for her role in «Mad Men,» Shipka showcased a striking appearance in a strapless black mini dress adorned with bow accents, complemented by matching opera gloves.

The actress, who turned 25 on November 10, recently disclosed experiencing a ‘mental breakdown’ concerning her milestone birthday. Speaking candidly, she explained, «I was freaking out before. I would quite literally just be going about my day and then sort of descend into some sort of mental breakdown, which happens. I’d be freaking out about a random thing and then I’d go, ‘And I’m turning 25 too!’ Like it would just happen, it would just come over me.» However, Shipka noted that when her birthday arrived, she ultimately felt ‘great.’

Reflecting on her growth over the years, Shipka commented that she often felt more mature than her age, sharing, «People always told me that I was wise beyond my years. I never really believed them at the time but then I started to feel younger as I got older, if that makes any sense.»

During her promotion of the holiday film «Red One» in Berlin, Shipka recounted a holiday mishap, which resulted in a facial injury. She amusingly described waking up after a night out with friends to find «a massive hump» on her nose, the cause of which remained unclear.

At the «Sweethearts» premiere, Shipka was joined by co-star Nico Hiraga, who sported a stylish dark suit embellished with multicolor floral embroidery. The film, set for release on November 28, follows two college freshmen who make a pact to part ways with their high school sweethearts during Thanksgiving break, leading to an eventful night out. The cast also includes Christine Taylor, Jake Bongiovi, and others.
