Haddish, there to promote her newly released book ‘I Curse You With Joy’, opened up about the profound impact her high school drama teacher, Ms. Greeve, had on her life – unaware that her beloved mentor was waiting backstage.

Their last in-person meeting had taken place 25 years ago.

During her high school years, Haddish had won a drama contest with a reading from ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, coincidentally one of Ms. Greeve’s favorite plays. As a gesture of appreciation for Teacher Appreciation Week, ‘The View’ gifted Ms. Greeve a limited edition leather-bound copy of the play.
