Aerosmith Announces Farewell to Touring After Vocal Injury
Aerosmith, the legendary rock band, has officially announced their retirement from touring. This decision comes as frontman Steven Tyler continues to struggle with a vocal injury that he sustained last year.
In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, the band expressed their deep sadness over this choice. They revealed that despite Steven’s relentless efforts to regain his vocal strength with the help of an expert medical team, a full recovery is simply not possible.
Aerosmith initially kicked off their farewell tour, titled ‘Peace Out,’ back in May 2023, but after only performing three shows, they had to postpone the remaining dates due to Tyler’s injury. The band hoped to resume the tour in September, but now it seems that won’t happen.
The statement from Aerosmith conveyed immense gratitude toward their supportive fans. They thanked the crew, their team, and everyone who contributed to their long journey in music, stating, ‘Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On.’
Having sold over 150 million records globally, Aerosmith is one of the most successful rock bands in history. The band reflected on their journey, saying, ‘It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith,’ and they credited their fans for fueling that flame for over five decades.
On top of his vocal issues, Tyler is also dealing with legal challenges stemming from allegations from the 1970s. He has denied these claims, but it’s another weight on his shoulders as the band faces this significant moment.
For fans who purchased tickets, Aerosmith announced that Ticketmaster buyers will receive automatic refunds, while those who bought tickets from secondary sites like SeatGeek or StubHub should reach out to those platforms for assistance.
