Travelers seeking to explore the Southern Hemisphere can take advantage of new special fare offers from Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, which now provide a faster route from the Pacific Northwest to Australia and New Zealand. This initiative is planned through November 21, 2024, and offers fares starting at $390 one-way from Seattle or Portland to Auckland, New Zealand, and Sydney, Australia.

The available travel window extends to April 30, 2025, for Auckland, and from February 1 to September 30, 2025, for Sydney. Travelers must book flights on either the Alaska or Hawaiian Airlines websites to secure these discounted rates.

«With the combined network of Alaska and Hawaiian, it’s more convenient than ever for our guests in the Pacific Northwest to book a flight to Australia and New Zealand,» stated Alex Judson, Managing Director of Partnerships and International at Alaska Airlines. This partnership promises enhanced connectivity through Honolulu, where Hawaiian Airlines departs for these destinations on its Airbus A330 aircraft.

The A330 aircraft are well-equipped with 18 premium cabin lie-flat leather seats, 68 extra comfort seats, and 192 main cabin seats. Furthermore, Hawaiian Airlines has introduced complimentary Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi across all Airbus-operated routes.

Operating since 2004 to Sydney and since 2013 to Auckland, Hawaiian Airlines has established itself on these long-haul routes. Notably, the Honolulu-Sydney route remains one of its most trafficked international lines.

This partnership with Alaska Airlines serves as a strategic step in optimizing routes and resources. Alaska Airlines, which acquired Hawaiian Airlines, aims to maximize travel efficiency and passenger satisfaction as these airlines navigate the post-pandemic travel landscape.

Passengers from Seattle and Portland will reap the benefits of this union, with Hawaii serving as a convenient midpoint to reach Australia and New Zealand efficiently. The merger of networks stands to enhance flight frequency and service quality on these high-demand international routes.
