Palmer wrestler Levi Hopkins has recently secured a remarkable victory at the U23 Pan-American Championships, catapulting himself from Alaska State Champion to gold medalist on an international stage.
Hopkins, a standout athlete with aspirations of representing the United States in global competitions, initially aimed at off-season training in preparation for his senior year at Campbell University. However, an unforeseen opportunity arose following his sixth-place finish at the U23 National Championships.
After the top five competitors declined participation in the Pan-American championships, Hopkins stepped up to the challenge, displaying his determination and readiness to compete at the international level.
Embracing the chance to represent Team USA, Hopkins dominated the 92-kilogram (202 lb) weight class, delivering impressive performances throughout the tournament.
