Alcaraz, Musetti, and Korda Shine at cinch Championships
Three rising tennis stars, Carlos Alcaraz, Lorenzo Musetti, and Sebastian Korda, showcased their prowess at the cinch Championships with impressive victories on Tuesday.
Alcaraz, fresh off his French Open triumph, started his grass-court campaign with a hard-fought win against Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo. The defending champion at the ATP 500 event displayed champion instincts, saving three set points in the second set to secure a 6-1, 7-5 victory.
Italian youngster Musetti caused an upset by defeating the second seed, Jannik Sinner, in a thrilling three-set encounter. The victory marked Musetti’s first win against a Top 10 opponent after a 13-match losing streak in such matchups.
Meanwhile, American talent Sebastian Korda continued his solid form on grass by defeating Tommy Paul in straight sets. Korda, who recently reached the final at the ATP 250 event in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, showcased his skills to advance at the cinch Championships.
Other notable results from the tournament included Alessandro Giannessi defeating Jozef Kovalik, and Nikhil Sriram Tabilo coming back to win against Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera after their match was suspended.
