Alex Cooper Jumps to SiriusXM from Spotify
Popular podcaster Alex Cooper is making some big waves in the world of podcasts! Known for her unfiltered show, ‘Call Her Daddy’, she recently signed a multi-year deal with SiriusXM, waving goodbye to Spotify.
This deal is worth a staggering $125 million, which is more than double what she was reportedly making with Spotify. SiriusXM will now have exclusive rights to advertising, distribution, and more for her show and her production company, the Unwell Network.
For context, ‘Call Her Daddy’ was Spotify’s second-biggest podcast last year, right behind ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. Alex teamed up with SiriusXM to launch exclusive content starting next year, which should be exciting for her listeners.
Interestingly, other popular podcasts have also shifted away from Spotify recently. For example, Dax Shepard’s ‘Armchair Expert‘ recently signed a deal with Amazon’s Wondery, while some others are making similar moves.
Alex Cooper’s podcast journey began in 2018 with co-host Sofia Franklyn. Since then, Cooper has skyrocketed in popularity, interviewing big names like Miley Cyrus and John Legend, among others. Fans love her candid discussions on taboo topics.
Despite the change in distribution, you can still catch ‘Call Her Daddy’ on Spotify, as Cooper’s fans — lovingly called the ‘Daddy Gang’ — remain a top priority for her.
