Amethi Elections 2024: Congress’ Kishori Lal Emerges Victorious Over Smriti Irani
The Amethi Lok Sabha constituency witnessed a significant political development today as Congress candidate Kishori Lal Sharma emerged victorious over incumbent Smriti Irani in the 2024 elections.
Sharma, a longtime loyalist of the Gandhi family, secured a substantial lead of 167,196 votes against the BJP‘s Irani in a fiercely contested battle.
Smriti Irani, who previously defeated Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 elections, faced tough competition from Kishori Lal Sharma this time around.
The Election Commission confirmed Kishori Lal Sharma’s win with an overwhelming majority, achieving 54.99% of the total votes to secure the prestigious Amethi seat.
Following his win, Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra lauded Kishori Lal Sharma’s victory, attributing it to the long-standing connection between the Gandhi family and the people of Amethi.
