Amethi Lok Sabha Election 2024: Smriti Irani Trails Behind Kl Sharma In Close Battle

In a close contest during the Lok Sabha Election 2024, BJP’s Smriti Irani is closely trailing Congress candidate KL Sharma by approximately 62,000 votes in Amethi.

KL Sharma, a close aide to Sonia Gandhi and a seasoned strategist in Amethi and Raebareli, is leading by a slim margin of 50,758 votes amidst initial trends.

Irani expressed her gratitude to the people of Amethi and credited the Gandhi family for this position while acknowledging that the vote counting is ongoing, awaiting final results.

The Congress stands strong with party leader Sonia Gandhi, who has nominated Kishori Lal Sharma to contest from Amethi, where he held the reins of the election strategy.

KL Sharma, originally from Ludhiana, has been a key figure in developing and executing election strategies in the Gandhi family’s strongholds of Amethi and Raebareli.
