Amy Slaton Halterman Arrested After Camel Bite Incident Leads to Drug Discovery
Amy Slaton Halterman, a prominent figure from TLC‘s reality series ‘1000-Lb. Sisters,’ was arrested on Labor Day in Tennessee following an unusual incident involving a camel bite.
The event unfolded at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, Tennessee, where authorities were summoned after a guest reportedly sustained injuries from a camel bite. Upon their arrival, deputies at the scene detected strong suspicious odors emanating from the guest’s vehicle.
Inside the vehicle were Halterman, Brian Scott Lovvorn, and two children. The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department reported that both Halterman and Lovvorn are facing serious charges. These include illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule VI substances, as well as two counts of child endangerment.
Currently, both individuals are being held at the Crockett County Jail, with no available information regarding bond or hearing proceedings at this time.
Halterman, 36, has gained recognition through her participation in ‘1000-Lb. Sisters,’ which chronicles her and her sister’s weight loss journeys. The show initially aired in 2020 and concluded its fifth season in February 2024.
