Anaheim Ducks Select Beckett Sennecke Third Overall in 2024 NHL Draft
The Anaheim Ducks have made a significant move in the 2024 NHL Draft by selecting talented right wing, Beckett Sennecke, with the third overall pick. Sennecke, a standout player from the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), showcased his prowess during the 2023-24 season. With impressive stats of 27 goals and 41 assists for a total of 68 points, Sennecke proved his impact on the ice with a stellar performance.
Weighing in at 6-2 and 182 pounds, Sennecke’s hockey IQ and skill set were evident throughout the season. Leading Oshawa in game-winning goals, shots taken, and solidifying his rankings in various categories, Sennecke emerged as a top prospect in the 2024 Draft.
During the 2024 OHL Playoffs, Sennecke’s star continued to rise as he led all draft-eligible skaters in goals and points. His exceptional playoff run, which included 10 goals and 12 assists for a total of 22 points, further solidified his status as a player to watch.
Prior to his standout season in the OHL, Sennecke earned recognition by being named to the OHL Second All-Rookie Team in the 2022-23 season. With an impressive stat line of 20 goals and 35 assists, Sennecke’s early success set the stage for his future in the league.
Representing Team Canada White at the 2022 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, Sennecke showcased his skills on an international stage. His contributions to the team, including three assists in five tournament contests, highlighted his potential as a player with a bright future ahead.
