ANC Supporters Gather in Thousands for Siyanqoba Rally at FNB Stadium
Thousands of African National Congress (ANC) supporters have converged at the iconic FNB Stadium in Johannesburg for the party’s highly anticipated Siyanqoba rally, marking the culmination of its extensive election campaign.
The sprawling stadium began teeming with enthusiastic supporters as early as 9am, with buses streaming in from various provinces including Limpopo, the Free State, North West, and the Northern Cape. Security personnel, including police and Amapanyaza crime wardens, were actively managing the influx of ANC loyalists seeking entry into the stadium precinct.
Outside the stadium, a vibrant scene unfolded as informal traders lined the roads, offering a variety of ANC-themed merchandise to eager supporters. Youth from Soweto seized the opportunity to earn extra income by selling ANC cheek stickers for a nominal fee of R5.
Within the stadium, the ambiance steadily heightened as renowned gospel artist Bucie Radebe took to the stage, captivating the audience with her performance. Mary Chauke, an ardent ANC supporter from Limpopo, expressed her excitement for the rally, emphasizing the party’s capability to address the nation’s challenges and underscoring the ANC’s electoral prospects.
