De’Anthony Melton Signs One-Year Deal with Golden State Warriors After Departing Philadelphia 76ers

Following his departure from the Philadelphia 76ers, De’Anthony Melton is set to embark on a new chapter with the Golden State Warriors in the upcoming NBA season.

During the 2022 NBA Draft, the Sixers orchestrated a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies to acquire the emerging guard, Melton, as they aimed to bolster their roster for a competitive push. Melton’s tenure in Philadelphia saw him play in a career-high 77 games in the 2022-2023 season, showcasing his versatility and defensive prowess on the court.

With a shift in his role at times, Melton started in 58 games, averaging 28 minutes per game for the Sixers. Offensively, he contributed as a valuable complementary piece, with an average of ten points and three assists, while shooting an impressive nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc. Defensively, Melton proved to be a disruptive force, averaging four rebounds and nearly two steals per game.

Heading into the 2023-2024 season, Melton was determined to prove himself and secure a new contract.
