ANZ‘s online banking services have returned to normal after facing disruptions caused by a third-party vendor, impacting millions of customers across Australia. The issue, which began midday, was resolved around 2.45pm, lasting nearly three hours.
A spokesperson from ANZ confirmed that the problem stemmed from a technology issue related to a vendor, affecting various systems such as the ANZ App, Internet Banking, and ANZ Transactive Global. Despite this, services like ANZ Plus app, Phone Banking, ATMs, and EFTPOS remained operational during the outage.
Reports from around 3000 customers highlighted the online banking service problem, indicating the widespread nature of the disruption. ANZ disclosed that over four million customers rely on its online banking app for their financial transactions.
While investigations into the root cause of the outage are ongoing, ANZ assured customers that efforts are being made to address any remaining impacts and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
