Apple‘s highly anticipated mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro, has officially launched in Canada, along with France, Germany, and the U.K.

The Vision Pro, priced at $5,000 in Canada, offers users an immersive spatial computing experience, allowing them to engage in various activities such as browsing photos, participating in meetings, and playing games.

Despite the excitement surrounding its release, analysts like Wamsi Mohan from Bank of America predict that initial sales may fall below expectations due to the high price point.

Mike Rockwell, the vice-president of Apple’s vision products group, emphasized the importance of in-store demonstrations to showcase the capabilities of the Vision Pro.

During a demonstration, Apple displayed how the headset can transform the user’s environment through interactive experiences like virtual petting of dinosaurs and augmented reality Formula One cars.

Rockwell highlighted the Vision Pro’s ability to offer unprecedented media experiences and a unique productivity environment that integrates seamlessly with Apple’s ecosystem.

While there is excitement surrounding the Vision Pro’s current capabilities, tech analysts suggest that Apple may need to make the device more user-friendly and potentially more affordable in future iterations.

As the Vision Pro continues to roll out in new markets like Canada, Apple remains tight-lipped about its future developments, maintaining an air of curiosity and anticipation among consumers.
