Arewa Indigenous Obidients Forum Seeks Unity for Peter Obi’s 2027 Presidential Bid
A coalition known as the Arewa Indigenous Obidients Forum is actively pursuing the formation of a comprehensive alliance aimed at establishing a robust foundation for the nation’s future. During a press conference held in Kano, they expressed a strong conviction that by divine favor, Peter Obi will emerge victorious in the upcoming 2027 presidential elections.
The Forum’s coordinator, Engineer Alkassim Awwal, articulated their mission to ensure a successful presidential campaign for Peter Obi as part of the upcoming electoral process. They acknowledged the current dire circumstances facing Nigeria, characterized by rampant hunger, poverty, and an overwhelming sense of instability, an unfortunate situation they believe stems from the collective actions of the citizenry.
Awwal reflected on the times when Obi entreatingly urged Nigerians to grasp his vision for the country’s trajectory, which many dismissed as mere political rhetoric typical of previous elections. However, the Forum insists that the reality has become undeniable, leading to an awakening to the grim state of affairs that Nigeria currently faces.
The coordinator remarked on the increasing poverty levels and the pervasive lack of resources affecting communities nationwide, contrasting this with government officials’ tendency to engage in ceremonies and procure new aircrafts, seemingly oblivious to the struggles of everyday Nigerians.
In anticipation of the 2027 elections, the Forum is gearing up to rally support from various factions across Northern Nigeria and beyond for Peter Obi, whom they have characterized as an experienced politician with a track record of service and a clear vision for governance.
Awwal emphasized the importance of solidarity, cooperation, and collective efforts in championing the candidate, who represents values of integrity, competence, and inclusiveness. The Forum also took a moment to extend their congratulations to the former governor of Anambra State as he celebrates his 63rd birthday.
In a related note, the Collective Movement (TCM), a socio-political organization, also recognized Peter Obi on this significant occasion, commending him as an inspirational leader for the youth. This appreciation was conveyed through a statement from High Chief Franklin Ekechukwu, the founder of TCM, who expressed his admiration for Obi’s leadership skills and wished him ongoing success in his various endeavors.
Edwin Nwachukwu, director of media for TCM, lauded Obi as a revolutionary figure in the recent general elections, attributing to him influence over numerous Nigerians who view him as a beacon of hope and guidance.
In his heartfelt message, Ekechukwu urged Obi, who previously departed from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) due to internal conflicts, not to abandon his political aspirations simply because of setbacks caused by certain self-serving individuals in the party.
He appealed to Obi to reconsider the possibility of reuniting with Atiku Abubakar to resurrect what had been termed “The Atiku/Obi Dream” ticket. Ekechukwu acknowledged the adversity faced by Abubakar from influential party members but praised his determination to remain steadfast in his convictions.
Furthermore, he encouraged Obi to hold onto a belief in Nigeria’s promising future and to collaborate with those who share a vision for the nation’s collective welfare.
