Armed Prison Van Ambush: Notorious Drug Boss Escapes, Two Officers Killed in France
A notorious drug boss, named Mohamed Amra, also known as ‘La Mouche’, escaped during an armed ambush targeting a prison van in France. The incident, which took place in Incarville, Normandy, resulted in the tragic deaths of two prison officers and left three others severely injured.
Eric Dupond-Moretti, the Justice Minister, revealed that one of the slain officers was expecting a child, while the other was a young father of two. The assailants targeted the officers while they were transporting Mohamed Amra, 30, leading to a barrage of gunfire on the motorway in broad daylight.
The shocking attack involved hooded gunmen who utilized two vehicles to execute the ambush near a Val de Reuil tollbooth on the A154 motorway. Witnesses reported hearing around 30 to 40 loud gunshots during the violent attack, underscoring the brazen nature of the assault on the convoy.
Amra, a key figure within a narcotics network, had recently been sentenced for burglary in the suburbs of Evreux. His criminal alias, ‘La Mouche’ or ‘The Fly’, had amassed a reputation for alleged involvement in international drug trafficking and connections to the notorious ‘Blacks‘ gang in Marseille.
The ambush occurred during Amra’s transfer between Val de Reuil prison and a court in Rouen, prompting a massive manhunt launched by hundreds of law enforcement officers under the directives of Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
French President Emmanuel Macron expressed profound shock at the incident, vowing to ensure that justice is served for the fallen officers, their families, and the injured. The relentless pursuit of both Amra and the armed perpetrators is underway as authorities strive to bring them to account for the heinous crime committed on the motorway.
