Aston Villa is currently in negotiations to bring Ross Barkley from Luton Town following his exceptional season with the club. The 30-year-old footballer excelled during his loan stint with Villa in the past and is eager to continue his career in the Premier League after Luton Town’s relegation.

Villa’s qualification for the Champions League has prompted them to seek additional depth in their squad, targeting a full-back, a versatile centre-back like Mario Hermoso – who is set to become a free agent soon – two midfielders, and a forward. Conor Gallagher from Chelsea is also under consideration. However, the club must offload certain players to comply with profit and sustainability regulations.

Ross Barkley, who moved to Luton on a free transfer from Nice last season, is part of the talks with Aston Villa. The English midfielder showcased his skills in 37 appearances for the Hatters across all competitions, scoring five goals in the Premier League and providing four assists along the way.

Aside from Barkley’s potential move, Brazilian side Vasco da Gama is eyeing a return for Douglas Luiz. The defender has also attracted interest from AC Milan. These developments signal a busy transfer period for Aston Villa as they aim to strengthen their squad for European competition.
