Atalanta Wants to Keep Lookman Amid PSG Interest

Atalanta’s CEO, Luca Percassi, has made it clear that the club wants to hold on to Ademola Lookman. There’s been a buzz about him moving to Paris Saint-Germain, a big name in Ligue 1.

In addition to Lookman’s situation, another player, Teun Koopmeiners, is also eyeing a move to Juventus. Lookman himself has even requested to sit out the upcoming Serie A match against Leece.

Percassi spoke to Sky Sport Italia and reminded everyone that all players are part of Atalanta, and the club will ultimately decide their futures for the team’s benefit. He also expressed some frustration over Lookman and Koopmeiners’ actions, suggesting that they often receive poor advice during this tricky transfer period.

Unfortunately, the open transfer market can sometimes feel endless, and Percassi mentioned that they had hoped to get better control over timing earlier in the summer. However, it became complicated when the Saudi Arabian leagues insisted on an extension.

In the world of transfers, PSG’s initial offer for Lookman didn’t meet Atalanta’s expectations. Reports say PSG proposed €30 million for Lookman, but Atalanta quickly turned it down, feeling it was far too low.

Earlier this year, Lookman’s market value was estimated between €20-25 million. However, after some amazing performances last season, his price tag has jumped to around €50-60 million. If PSG wants to land him, they’ll need to come back with a much bigger offer.

Now, it’s up to PSG to decide whether they want to meet Atalanta’s demands or search for other players to strengthen their squad.
