Australia Post Launches Bluey Dollarbuck Coin Collection

Australia Post has announced the release of a new collection of coins inspired by the beloved children’s television show, Bluey. In collaboration with the Royal Australian Mint and BBC Studios, the collection features ten unique $1 coins showcasing playful illustrations of the show’s characters, created by Ludo Studio.

The 2024 Bluey Dollarbuck coins can be purchased individually or as part of a 10-coin set, with one in every ten-coin set including a special-coloured coin. Additionally, these coins will also appear as change in participating Australia Post Offices during cash transactions.

Australia Post Executive General Manager Retail, Josh Bannister, expressed enthusiasm about the collection, highlighting its charm and the impact Bluey has had on Australian culture. He noted, “We are excited to bring Bluey to the world of collectable coins,” emphasizing how this collection allows fans to celebrate the characters they adore.

Kate O'Connor, Director of Brands and Licensing at BBC Studios ANZ, shared her excitement regarding the release, stating that the coins represent a delightful piece of Australian culture. She added that they are ideal for both new collectors and long-time enthusiasts of Bluey.

Leigh Gordon, CEO of the Royal Australian Mint, also conveyed his excitement, commenting on the potential of these coins to inspire new generations of coin collectors. He affirmed that these coins provide an excellent opportunity for families to begin collecting.

The Bluey Dollarbuck coins are available for purchase starting today, September 2, 2024, for $10 each or $29 for the full coin and folder set. A Bluey Stamp Pack, which includes self-adhesive MyStamps featuring the show’s characters, will also be available for fans.
