The final autopsy report on the body of the late musician Mohbad has left unanswered questions regarding the cause of his death.

Mohbad, who passed away on September 12, 2023, sparked controversies necessitating a coroner’s inquest directed by the Lagos State Government.

During the inquest proceedings in Ikorodu, Dr. Shokunle testified that due to the body’s advanced decomposition, the exact cause of death could not be ascertained.

Dr. Shokunle added that despite exhaustive efforts, the state of decomposition posed significant challenges in conducting a conclusive autopsy.

The complexity of the situation surrounding the death of the musician raised several unresolved issues for the officials involved.

At the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, the autopsy was carried out, with detailed photographic documentation for records.

It was noted that Mohbad’s body underwent significant decomposition before being subjected to the autopsy, creating difficulties in the examination process.

Addressing allegations of neck injuries post-mortem, Dr. Shokunle refuted claims that the deceased singer’s neck was bent and bleeding after death, discrediting such assertions.

Furthermore, during the process of exhuming the body, heavy stones were discovered placed on top of his grave, further complicating the circumstances of Mohbad’s death.

The suspicions surrounding Mohbad’s demise led to a thorough investigation, with key witnesses like Owofeni Ibrahim testifying to the character and demeanor of the late musician.

Friend and witness Ibrahim noted that Mohbad was known for his calm, intelligent, and diligent nature, painting a positive picture of the deceased artist as the inquest continued.

Following the testimonies and expert assessments presented, the coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, adjourned the inquest to unravel more details surrounding Mohbad’s mysterious death until June 11.
