Backstreet Boys: Where Are They Now?
The Backstreet Boys, one of the biggest boy bands in history, are back in the spotlight with a new Netflix documentary titled Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam. This film chronicles their rise in the music industry, and it comes just in time to remind us of their incredible journey since hitting the radio waves in the ’90s.
Leading the pack is AJ McLean, who was actually the first member to join the band. Now 46, he has not only focused on his music career but has also made appearances in various TV shows and movies. After a decade-long marriage to Rochelle Deanna McLean, they announced their separation in 2023 but have decided to stay friends for their kids. AJ is currently busy touring alongside another artist, keeping that signature Backstreet Boys spirit alive.
Then there’s Nick Carter, who has had a rather rocky few years. At 44, he has faced personal tragedies, including the loss of his brother and sister. Despite these challenges, he is fighting allegations of sexual assault. Nick has been married to Lauren Kitt Carter since 2014, and together they have three kids: Odin Reign and twin daughters, Saoirse Reign and Pearl Reign.
Kevin Richardson, known as the “big brother” of the group, took a break from the band in 2006 but made his return in 2012. The 52-year-old has been happily married to Kristin Kay Richardson since 2000, and they are proud parents to two sons, Mason and Maxwell.
Howie Dorough also found success with the Backstreet Boys after impressing their manager, Lou Pearlman. At 50, Howie released solo projects and is happily married to Leigh, who he met in 2000. They share two sons, James Hoke and Holden John.
Lastly, there’s Brian Littrell. His singing talent got him into the band, and he has enjoyed a quieter life outside of music. Now 49, Brian lives in Atlanta with his wife and their son, who also has a passion for singing. He has released solo Christian albums and Christmas albums that showcase his family’s musical talents.
