FC Barcelona Expands Retail Presence with New Store Opening in Madrid Airport
FC Barcelona continues to enhance its retail operations with the grand opening of its second Barça Store in Madrid. The inauguration took place during the first team’s trip for the Rayo Vallecano game, attended by several club officials, including president Joan Laporta and vice-president Rafa Yuste.
The new store is strategically located at Terminal 4 of the Madrid-Barajas airport, making it the first proprietary store of any football club at this prominent international travel hub. This location is expected to serve a large number of Barça fans traveling globally, offering various merchandise including team kits, training gear, and exclusive Barça-designed collections.
This store opening follows the success of the first Barça Store in Madrid, which was launched in December 2022 and has shown significant turnover. The new space spans 140 square meters and aims to provide easy access to Barça products in a high-traffic area.
With this addition, FC Barcelona now boasts a total of 14 proprietary stores across various strategic locations in Catalonia and beyond. This includes several outlets in Barcelona, such as the Canaletes and Passeig de Gràcia stores, as well as locations at major airports.
The expansion of Barça’s retail presence aligns with the club’s efforts to strengthen its brand globally and enhance its merchandising strategy. In 2018, the club established BLM (Barça Licensing & Merchandising) to directly manage and maximize its branding and retail opportunities.
Furthermore, the redesign of the Barça Store at Barcelona’s airport T2 reflects the club’s commitment to improving accessibility and service for traveling fans. These initiatives collectively emphasize FC Barcelona’s ongoing dedication to fostering a robust retail environment for supporters both domestically and internationally.
