Barcelona Secures Pau Victor for the Next Five Years
In exciting news from the world of football, FC Barcelona has announced that they have completed a deal with Girona for striker Pau Victor to remain with the club for the next five years. This agreement ensures that Victor will be part of the team until June 30, 2029.
Pau Victor shone brightly last season, standing out as the top scorer for Barca Atletic. His impressive performances under the guidance of Rafa Marquez caught the attention of the Barcelona management.
The agreement comes after Barcelona opted not to exercise a purchase option on his contract earlier. According to club statements, they have reportedly paid around 2.5 million euros to secure the young striker’s services.
Fans can expect to see Victor join the first team under coach Hansi Flick as he prepares for the pre-season tour to the United States.
Pau Victor’s journey in football began at a young age when he started playing with Junior FC. He later joined Sabadell and subsequently advanced through the ranks at Girona, where he played U19 football before making an appearance for the Girona reserves.
In his previous seasons, he had some experience with the senior team, playing eight matches in the Second Division during the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons. His skills continued to develop while on loan at CE Sabadell, where he played 36 games, scoring seven goals and providing six assists.
This past season, Victor really made his mark at Barça Atlètic, officially on loan from Girona, becoming the top scorer in the Primera RFEF with 20 goals, significantly contributing to their promotion campaign. His ability to rise to the occasion has made him a valuable player, and he often played as a center forward, although his versatility allowed him to shine on the wings as well.
