Barry Manilow Books AO Arena Amid Co-op Live Uncertainty
Legendary singer Barry Manilow has taken proactive measures amid uncertainty surrounding the opening of Manchester‘s Co-op Live arena by securing the AO Arena for his upcoming concert scheduled for 19 May.
The Co-op Live arena, set to be the UK’s largest indoor venue with a capacity of 23,500 people and a price tag of £365m, has faced multiple delays in its opening, leading to concerns over scheduled performances.
Manilow’s husband, of over 46 years, shared on social media that the gig at Co-op Live will be relocated to the AO Arena if the former’s opening is further postponed.
With the AO Arena having a maximum capacity of 12,500, Manilow’s team assured fans that there would be ample space for everyone, should the concert need to be moved.
Regarding the uncertainty, Manilow’s husband emphasized the team’s commitment to keeping fans informed promptly as decisions are made about the venue change.
Liam Gallagher, slated to perform his iconic ‘Definitely Maybe’ album at Co-op Live in June, had previously hinted at potential venue contingencies if the situation at the Co-op Live remained unresolved.
Notably, popular acts like A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, the Eagles, Janet Jackson, and Eric Clapton are among the scheduled performers at the Co-op Live, with some events already being affected by the ongoing delays.
Rick Astley was the only artist to proceed with a test event at the Co-op Live, while other acts have had to adjust their plans due to the venue’s opening complications.
