Beloved Comedian Hiram Kasten Passes Away at 71

Beloved comedian Hiram Kasten, known for his roles in iconic TV shows and the comedy club circuit, has passed away at the age of 71 in his home in Batavia, New York.

Kasten, a regular in New York comedy clubs, formed a close friendship with Jerry Seinfeld after meeting at The Comic Strip and went on to enjoy a successful career.

During his career, Kasten performed at various notable venues including Catch a Rising Star, The Improv, The Comedy Cellar, Caroline’s, and Dangerfield’s, where he hosted his own show for years.

In the late 1980s, Kasten transitioned to Los Angeles where he appeared in numerous TV series like Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and many others, showcasing his comedic talents.

Aside from his television roles, Kasten also entertained audiences in Las Vegas with ‘The Rat Pack is Back‘ show and traveled the world delivering his comedy on cruise lines such as Seabourn, Royal Viking, and Princess.

Born in the Bronx, Kasten had a lifelong dream of becoming an actor, and his legacy in the entertainment industry will be remembered by fans and colleagues alike.

Survived by his wife Diana Kisiel Kastenbaum, daughter Millicent Jade, and brother-in-law Kevin John Kisiel, Kasten’s impact on the comedy world and his family is deeply cherished.

Funeral services are scheduled to take place at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffers Memorial Chapel in Forest Hills, New York, with a memorial event planned in Los Angeles later this summer.
