Billionaire Frank Stronach Faces Sexual Offences Charges Spanning Three Decades

Canadian billionaire, Frank Stronach, aged 91, is facing serious allegations related to sexual offences involving three women that reportedly took place between the years 1980 and 2023, as revealed in court documents recently obtained from the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

The charges were initially announced by the Peel Regional Police a week ago, and further details have now emerged from the court documents.

According to the documents, Peel police claim that Stronach is accused of committing sexual offences, including rape, indecent assault, and forcible confinement.

Frank Stronach was apprehended by the Peel police on June 7 in the Peel region, and his court appearance is scheduled in Brampton for July 8.

The alleged offences spanned several decades, with incidents dating back to the 1980s in Toronto and other parts of Ontario, as well as a sexual assault in 2023 that allegedly occurred in Aurora, Ontario.

Amid these allegations, Stronach’s lawyer, Brian Greenspan, has firmly denied the accusations and expressed Stronach’s intent to confront the charges to uphold his philanthropic and business legacy.

Frank Stronach, originally from Austria, migrated to Canada in 1954 and established Magna International, a renowned Aurora-based auto parts conglomerate.

Although he stepped down from Magna in 2010, his daughter, Belinda Stronach, now oversees the Stronach Group, a global venture initiated by her father specializing in horse racing and betting, known as 1/ST.

Statements from Magna International and The Stronach Group indicate that Stronach has had minimal involvement in business operations in recent years.

The entrepreneur, a recipient of the Order of Canada and a prominent figure in the Canadian Business Hall of Fame, also ventured into organic agriculture and zero-emission transport with Stronach International.

Several esteemed institutions, including Laurentian University in Sudbury, have offered honorary degrees to Stronach and have expressed vigilance in light of the recent developments.

Support resources for individuals affected by sexual violence are being highlighted following these allegations, with crisis lines and local services readily available for those in need as authorities continue to investigate.
