BJP’s Surat Candidate Mukesh Dalal Emerges Victorious Unopposed Before Polls Commence
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured its first victory in the current Lok Sabha elections even before the official polls have commenced. The triumph comes from the Surat constituency in Gujarat, where the BJP’s candidate Mukesh Dalal emerges victorious.
Gujarat BJP chief CR Paatil extended his congratulations to the successful candidate, Mukesh Dalal, who has been elected unopposed for the Surat Lok Sabha seat, leaving all his competitors out of the race.
The situation unfolded swiftly as all nine candidates initially vying for the Surat seat withdrew their nominations, leading to Dalal’s unopposed victory. Among his contenders, Nilesh Kumbhani, representing the Congress party, faced a setback when he failed to present any of his three proposers before the election officer, resulting in the cancellation of his nomination.
A point of contention arose regarding the authenticity of the signatures of three proposers in Kumbhani’s nomination form, a matter that was raised by the BJP. As a consequence, the Congress party found itself ousted from the poll competition in Surat.
