BJP Trails in Faizabad as Ram Mandir Magic Fades: Lok Sabha Election 2024 Update
The latest updates from the Lok Sabha election 2024 reveal a surprising turn of events as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) finds itself trailing in the Faizabad constituency, home to the iconic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Faizabad, now officially known as Ayodhya since 2018, continues to play a significant role in the political landscape. The BJP’s candidate, Lallu Singh, is currently behind the Samajwadi Party contender, Awadhesh Prasad, by a margin of approximately 10,000 votes.
The BJP’s hopes of capitalizing on the momentum of the Ram Mandir’s inauguration earlier this year seem to be waning with this unexpected development in Faizabad.
In a broader context, the Lok Sabha election trends also point towards the INDIA bloc making notable strides in Uttar Pradesh. As per the latest data, the INDIA bloc has secured a lead in 43 Lok Sabha seats, with the Samajwadi Party and Congress closely following with 34 and 9 seats respectively.
Comparatively, the BJP, which clinched 62 seats in the previous election, is currently leading on only 34 seats in the ongoing election battle in Uttar Pradesh.
