Bomb Threat at Ambience Mall Turns Out Hoax
On Saturday, August 17, 2024, a bomb threat was reported at Ambience Mall in Gurugram, according to the local police.
After receiving an email about bombs being placed in the mall, authorities swiftly evacuated the public as a precaution. Various teams, including a bomb disposal unit and a dog squad, were deployed to conduct thorough searches.
After checking the premises, police confirmed that nothing suspicious was found. They urged the public not to panic and reassured everyone that safety protocols were being followed.
Gurugram police also issued a warning about the serious consequences of making false bomb threat reports, emphasizing that legal action would be taken against those spreading misleading information on social media or through email.
As a precautionary measure following the incident at Ambience Mall, another outlet in Vasant Kunj was evacuated and inspected.
Meanwhile, officials from the Noida police conducted a security mock drill at DLF Mall of India. DCP Noida Ram Badan Singh stated that the recent surge in bomb threat calls made it essential to evaluate their evacuation procedures.
During the mock drill, various teams, including fire, bomb disposal, and police units, practiced their responses to ensure public safety in case of real threats.
