Brandon Aiyuk Open to Staying with 49ers Despite Contract Stalemate
Star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has expressed his desire to remain with the San Francisco 49ers for the upcoming season, despite the ongoing contract standoff between him and the team.
Aiyuk, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, affirmed his commitment to the 49ers in a recent interview at Los Angeles International Airport, stating that he is ready to continue playing for the team even as extension negotiations linger.
Recently, Aiyuk added a touch of mystery to his contract situation by posting a TikTok video. In the video, Aiyuk is seen conversing with Washington Commanders‘ rookie quarterback Jaylen Daniels, hinting at uncertainties in his future with the 49ers.
While talks between Aiyuk and the 49ers have hit a snag, there seems to be a mutual understanding between the player and the team as they move forward toward the upcoming season.
With Aiyuk considering potential alternative destinations, he mentioned that his preference would still be to don a San Francisco 49ers uniform in 2024. However, he also acknowledged the Washington Commanders and the Pittsburgh Steelers as other possible landing spots.
